Harlan Coben Biography
Harlan Coben was born on the 4th of January in 1962, which was a Thursday. To those readers with a love of all things astrological, that makes him a Capricorn, which is one of the Earth signs.
Harlan was born into a Jewish family in Livingston, a town with a population of around 27,000 and which is only around 11 miles from Newark, in the state of New Jersey on the east coast of the United States of America (Newark is famed for having very uncomfortable seats in its airport, a fact you only discover when your plane is cancelled due to a storm and you have to spend the night there.) Harlan grew up with two brothers, one of which is called Larry, in a house on Downing Place in Livingston, which back in the 1960s was still quite a rural area – Harlan remembers sheep grazing nearby. His father was called Carl Gerald, while his mother was known of as Corky.
Harlan was schooled at Livingston High School in Livingstone. He played little league with Chris Christie, who was to grow up to be a well-known Republican politician.
