Kathy Reichs Biography
Kathy Reichs was born on the 7th of July in 1948, which was a Wednesday. For those readers interested in all things astrological, that makes Kathy is Cancerian, which is a Water sign.
Kathy was born in Chicago, a massive city with nearly three million residents, in Illinois, which is a state in the United States of America. Born to a father who was a meatpacking company manager and a mother who was a homemaker, Kathy was one of four children, all girls. Kathy was always interested in writing and wrote her very first book was she was just nine years old.
After attending a Catholic school with her sisters, Kathy studied anthropology at American University in Washington, D.C. from which she graduated in 1971. Kathy then went on to further her studies at Northwestern University, first gaining an M.A. in physical anthropology and then her Ph.D.
In 1968, Kathy married the man who would give her the surname she’d use on her books – Paul Reichs. He was a lawyer. Kathy was just 19 years old at that time.
Having gained such prestigious qualifications, Kathy went on to teach at a number of higher education institutions, including Northern Illinois University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of North Carolina, Concordia University, and McGill University, the latter two both being in Montreal, Canada.
