Barry Eisler Biography

Barry Eisler was born in the year 1964. On what day is not public knowledge. The month is a mystery. The only thing that is definite, is that year of 1964.

Barry’s father was a wholesale supplier of office equipment and his mother was an environmental activist. He was born in New Jersey, which is a state in the North of the United States of America and on the Atlantic coast.

Very little is known about Barry’s very early life – nothing about his schooling, nothing about his hobbies, nothing about family life. One tiny snippet that is known is that Barry enjoyed reading thrillers and spy stories as a young boy. It isn’t until his college years that it’s possible to catch up with him and see what he was up to. He attended Cornell Law School, the law department of Cornell University, which is private Ivy League university in Ithaca, New York. Ithaca is in the west of New York State, closer to the Great Lakes than Manhattan.

During his college days, Barry became very interested in foreign policy and international relations, particularly those aspects which the government didn’t want widely known. After studying law, Barry graduated from Cornell in 1989. It was at this point that he got a job with the CIA…
