Tess Gerritsen was born on the 12th of June in 1953, which as a Friday. For those readers interested in all things astrological, that makes her a Gemini, which is one of the Air signs.
Tess was born in San Diego, California, in the United States of America. It’s a city with a population of around five million people and is on the USA/Mexico border, which makes it the busiest international border crossing in the world. She’s the daughter of a Chinese immigrant and a Chinese-American seafood chef. Her father owned Tom Li’s Chinese and Seafood Restaurant, while her mother was a social worker who came from Kunming in Southwest China (which I’ve visited and would love to see again because I enjoyed it that much).
As a small child, Tess wrote books for her mother and even bound them herself with a needle and thread. Most stories were about the cats or the dog that were the family pets.
