John D MacDonald Biography
John D. MacDonald was born on the 24th of July in 1916, which was a Monday. For those readers interested in all things astrological, that makes him a Leo, which is one of the Fire signs.
John was born in Sharon, a small place of around 14,000 people, in Pennsylvania, which is a state on the Eastern side of the United States of America, separated from the Atlantic Ocean by New Jersey. Though John was born in Sharon, he grew up in New York State after his family moved to Utica, a city of around 63,000 people. The move, which came in 1926, was down to his father, Eugene, accepting a position at the Savage Arms Corporation, a firearms manufacturing company.
After high school, John enrolled at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, which is a private Ivy League university located in Philadelphia. However, he quit during his sophomore year, but later decided to further his education by attending Syracuse University, a college with around 22,000 students in Syracuse, New York State.
While at Syracuse University, he met fellow student Dorothy Prentiss who he married in secret in 1937. However, in 1938, he made it public, by having a ceremony in Poland…
