Why Read the Stephen Hunter Bob Lee Swagger Series in Order?
Stephen was born in Kansas City, Missouri, USA and like many writers when they started out, he worked as a journalist. However, unlike the majority of his contemporaries, he won the Pulitzer Price. (The only other writer on this site to have won the Pulitzer is John Sandford, who won it in 1986. Stephen was awarded it in 2003.)
Stephen's thrillers are defined by their strong heroes, and fans find none stronger than the ex-sniper in the Bob Lee Swagger books who goes by the nickname "Bob the nailer". The series was such a hit with fans that Hollywood couldn't resist producing a Bob Lee Swagger movie. In the movie Shooter, Mark Wahlberg stars as Bob Lee Swagger, "the shooter" in question. It was based on the novel Point of Impact.
Together with the Ray Cruz series and Earl Swagger novels, the stories of Bob Lee Swagger continue to stick Stephen firmly on the best seller lists.
